REDISCOVERING A PASSION FOR PHOTOGRAPHY
Once upon a time, we were budding photographers in the making. We took pictures of newborns, weddings, families, and everything in between. But it proved challenging to continue photography while working full-time and raising a family. It never occurred to us that taking pictures could be our profession. We thought photography had to be left in the "hobby" area of our lives. And so as our family increased, our time for those hobbies decreased. But even so, photography still remained a big part of our lives.
Having five kids means we have a shortage of time, but not of pictures. And if we're being totally honest, they were usually shot with whoever's phone was closest. But even though phones can snap pretty impressive pictures, it can never really replace what you can get with a camera. So we wrangled up the kids, hopped in the van and stopped by this amazing sunflower field, Sunflowers for St. Jude. We captured these fun moments with camera in hand and a renewed passion in our hearts. What better way to start our new photography blog than with how it all began - taking pictures of our kids.
Sunflowers for Jt. Jude is grown by Cat Romaine & Romaine Farms, located on Romaine Road in Kaplan, LA and this field is planted a few times a year. Donations are requested for picking sunflowers or taking pictures, but all of the money goes to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
